Safe to k hole in a house w/ other people?

I K Holed (i think) at my buds house a while back and I would occasionally yell out 'Oh my god' or 'Can you believe this' etc., is it easy to just stay silent on a k hole alone and not alert anyone else? Was it even a K Hole if I was able to talk?? Have only done k about 6 times so not super experienced with the headspace Thanks yall
