Bogu maintenance?

I used to be a part of a university kendo club, until I moved to an area that has no kendo activity of any kind in a 300 mile radius. My bogu, shinai, and hakama have been sitting in a travel bag for the past year and a half. I live in cold climate, so humidity is less of an issue. Now that I have more free time, I was wondering if I should maintain my gear regularly? I plan on continuing kendo in the future when I get a chance.
