movie/drama similar to "20th century girl"

Just watched "20th century girl" and LOVED it. Are there other movies/dramas similar? I particularly liked these aspects of it:
- chemistry between fl and ml
- slowburn
- pining
- weirdly specific but i love how ML was initially introduced as the "second male lead"
- lovable characters
- scenes with tension huhuhu
- that "i love you but i cant have you" feeling (sobs)
NOTE (massive spoiler for 20th century girl ahead) I didn't like the sad ending at all. Bawled. So preferably I'd like to watch something where they DO get together. Its for my emotional sake. Thanks.
