Okay, so I've recently gotten back into kdramas after being out of it for years because I got sick of that sappy love story between the 2 leads.
Two dramas got me back in. First is My ID is Gangnam Style, which I like because it deals with social issues like plastic surgery and even has side characters that aren't the typical beautiful male and female characters you usually see. Heck, even the beautiful male lead has substance and there's reasons behind his behaviors.
Second is It's okay not to be okay. Again, deals with social issues like mental health (though this is more internal and character based rather than how others reacts to them unlike My ID). And though it's only halfway through airing, I love how the characters have so much depth to them and how beautiful the cinematography is as well as how each scene has such great foreshadowing and tiebacks to previous episodes/scenes. The build up is so good too.
Anyway, I'm trying to watch a bit more kdrama (if there's any suitable) that has some good social commentary, decent character leads that aren't just 2 dimensional and overall enjoyable to watch. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
