As some of you may know, earlier this year I was diagnosed with cancer and had started treatment for it. Things have been rough the past few months, but I’ve been able to stay relatively stable so far.

Unfortunately, on Thursday I received notice that I was being laid off from my workplace. Although I had been on medical leave up until this point, my team was laid off due to recent budget cuts cancelling our project.

This has drastic consequences for me, as this loss of employment has terminated my healthcare coverage. The same healthcare coverage I have been relying on to receive my cancer treatment without going deep into debt. Even before losing my coverage, the bills were getting fucking nuts, and it’s only going to be getting worse.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a scenario where I can pay both my medical bills and keep up with my normal living expenses. I’ve already been balancing things out by selling through my Magic collection to make up for lost income, but that’s no longer an option.

Recently, I made a GoFundMe at the suggestion of some of my friends. I hate asking for help, but with how things have started falling apart recently I don’t have much of a choice.
