Good day. It's the Kazoo again.

EDIT: SPOILERS BELOW! Read on if you dare.

Hi, I was the guy who was considering making videos of me playing the game, then didn't, then squee'd about my perfect Hanako route. Now that I've gotten 100% completion, I'd like to squee a bit more.

This game, man. This game. It was so eye-opening. Heck, I think Lilly's good ending was the first work of fiction ever to make my jaw drop. At many points. (Incidentally, my ranking of the girls from best to worst is Hanako-Lilly-Shizune-Rin-Emi.) The artwork really helped bring out the characters' emotions, and the arcs were really well-written. I've already talked about Hanako's good ending, so I'd like to express myself about all the others, in the order I played them. I'll try not to take up too much space.

Hanako Neutral: ...No comment, actually.

Hanako Bad: This hurt me. It really did. Of course, it was all Hisao's fault, but it pained me to see Hanako make such a face. Consarn it, Hisao! She's a living, breathing person with real feelings!

Emi Good: Honestly? I didn't like Emi that much. I think they went a little overboard with the sex and the kissing (I counted: twenty kisses in all), even knowing what a great job these writers do with it.

Emi Bad: This is what really made me dislike Emi. Hisao wasn't too much at fault here, not like he was with Hanako. But she relentlessly tore away at him all the same. Ugh.

Shizune Good: I love how there was one whole decision point in Shizune's arc. Made things simple for finding her endings. But I really liked Shizune, and for a time, she was Second Best Girl in my eyes. Despite her inability to talk or hear, she expressed herself really well and had an intriguing story. I constantly found myself surprised by her feisty personality and bold decisions (COUGH COUGH SAITAMA HOUSE COUGH) My only complaint is that most of the arc's drama hinged around Misha, rather than Shizune. But that's only a small fault.

Shizune Bad: After learning you-know-what about Misha (not gonna spoil, but those who have played this know what I'm talking about) in Shizune's good end, I knew just how bad the bad arc was. It ended kinda weird, but meh.

Lilly Good: Lilly was... awfully bold once she confessed, wasn't she? I really didn't see it coming, but it made sense, especially with a certain revelation that came later in the story. She and Hisao have really good chemistry, which is what made her displace Shizune as Second Best Girl. Her arc's drama was sensible and compelling, and on top of that, the romance played out beautifully.

Rin all three arcs: Rin... was a weird one. I didn't quite understand her arcs at first. But once I thought about it a little bit, it all came together. She DEFINITELY didn't have good chemistry with Hisao, so she fell pretty low on my ranking, but it was fun to try to understand her thought processes. Also: sweet Jesus did her arc have a lot of decision points. Like, wow. I looked it up, and apparently there's some really complicated stuff going on about making certain choices available, switching to different chapters, et cetera et cetera et cetera.

Kenji Bad: The bad ending of Act 1 was priceless. Kenji was already a hilarious character, but the way he got Hisao drunk was fantastic. When Hisao fell off the roof, I didn't know how to react until the credits rolled, at which point I lost it.

Favorite quote from the game? Only one possible answer:

"'How's the food, Hisao?' 'Talk to the nurse, Emi.'"

"'How was your day, Hisao?' 'Talk to the nurse, Emi.'"

"'Hisao, I think I'm ready to go all the w-' 'Talk to the nurse, Emi.'"
