Hello all! I am new to karate. I have practicing once or twice a week for a year now and it’s finally my white belt promotion.
I don’t know if I want to do it :(. I don’t know if I feel ready.
I’m sure everyone’s promotions are different but my dojo does at least a 4 hour or longer promotion (there is no set end time, it ends when it’s clear it’s finished).
Part of it is a quick written test then kicks, katas and sparring for the rest of the 4ish hours. I don’t know why but I don’t feel ready. I also am so stressed already I don’t know if I want to be pushed to a breaking point physically. Any thoughts or advice? Should I do it?
TLDR: 4 hour long white belt promotion and I’m scared of it emotionally and physically, should I do it? Thoughts?
