Need help finding a place to learn outdoor skills

I'm searching for a place or group to learn outdoor skills from. Been interested in outdoors, but haven't had an opportunity to learn any meaningful skills. I know alot from online, but nothing that would substitute real world experience and I'd feel more comfortable with some knowledge under my belt before I just go out into the woods. Does anyone know of any place or club that teach new people in outdoor skills in or near KC?
