I'm in the near northland near NKC. I've all but ran out of good hiking trails up north that I haven't done yet. Most of what I haven't been on is too short to be worth it or is better on a bike. I'm working through certain trails on a bike in the next few months.
I go hiking and biking to explore, to take photos. So a trail only in the woods doesn't really suit me.
I'm more likely to end up heading SW towards Johnson County than Jackson County for a variety of reasons.
What trails are a Must Do in Johnson County on foot that have nice scenery. A trail that is worth the drive too. Can have an outstanding year round botanical component (not the arboretum, I know about it), it goes past older buildings or homes, has a landmark item or artwork or is well designed with some sort of view. I'm ok for there to be difficulty to the hike.
Looking for paved and dirt options, I stick to paved in mud season and summer overgrowth and spider season
