I have seen on many blogs and affiliate sites that when a publisher uses an affiliate link, they use a redirect instead of the actual link.
For example, if you were linking from your blog post to an iPhone case on Amazon then instead of using the long link provided by Amazon, you'd use your own domain to redirect to the Amazon product page such as:
yoursite.com/iphone-case (or something along those lines)
I've done a quick Google search and it seems like this is called "Cloaking affiliate links"
Do you guys use this method? If so, why?
