Post Body

I remember reading about him

And how he was made to hold up the sky

How I thought what an honor it must be

To support something so beautiful and untameable

So that anyone might be able to look up and marvel.

Wouldn’t I gladly give every ounce of my strength

(feeble as I am)

To raise up the simplest beauty,

To rescue the most perfect flower?

O that your eyes would not be so weary

O your head so heavy

Is it weighted down by the memory

Of what it was to be so free?

Do your legs waver and refuse to hold

After your ageless ordeal?

Lie there and rest for a while

And to comfort you I will read a story

In the fading light

Of this imperfect hour.
