The little we know about Dhartri Palacios Hadley can be pieced together from newspapers clippings in California and Hawaii and a post on the Charley Project. What we learn is that 33 year old Dhartri was a mentally ill man who lived a transient lifestyle. He lived in San Francisco during winter months and spent his summers in Hawaii. It is unclear how he traveled between the two locations but he was last heard from in May 2008.
A 2002 California newspaper article reported that police responded to a report of a mentally ill man on Highway 1 in Elk, California. The man was identified as Dhartri and he was arrested on charges of being drunk in public and obstructing an officer in the performance in of his duties. A few years later, in 2007, there is another report of Dhartri being arrested in Hilo, Hawaii for harassment. I found no other information about Dhatri in the newspaper archives beyond the June 2007 newspaper article.
The remaining information we know about Dhartri's life is from the Charley Project posting which notes that Dhartri's financial conservator received monthly social security checks which were then deposited in Dhartri's account. I presume Dhartri had a disability or guardianship or something similar which necessitated the use of a financial conservator.
Dhartri withdrew his money monthly and his last few withdrawals show he lived in Hawaii. The last withdrawal was in May 2008 which is how the Charley Project ascertained the date of disappearance. His two brothers have not heard from him since 2008 either.
As is often the case in many of the disappearances I write about, the information in this post is all we know about Dhartri's disappearance.
Dhartri remains missing. He often dressed in all black clothing with black sunglasses and sandals/flip-flops. If you have any information, please contact the Fremont Police Department at 510-790-6800.
