Summoned for jury duty as a punk rocker, can I wear my mohawk up, will they put me on the jury with my hair and head tattoo?
Post Body

Hi there. A month ago I was summoned and I got my date for next week. I have a 4 inch lime green mohawk and a big head tattoo, along with peircings, and other tattoos. I was planning on wearing a black pencil dress (I only own pencil dresses) and put my mohawk up. I don't wear make up.

Would they even put me on a jury with how I look (please I don't want to go to jury duty, my job is so time consuming) or would they tell me I can't have my hair up or something (it looks like shit down and is all floppy and full of cow licks)

I can’t wait to do jury duty, I get PTO that doesn’t count against my annual PTO balance. I’m 28 and still haven’t been selected.

The lawyers don't really care what you look like. Just that you are easy to sway in their favor. So if you show too much bias either way they are likely to kick you out.

If you are selected know that the prosecutor will be pushing for conviction, and defender for innocence, but you are also there to determine if the law is fair, or applied fairly. If you feel the law unfairly penalizes people, or was unfairly applied. It's not the defendants fault. Only vote guilty if you truly believe the law was fair, and the defendant broke it.
