I work overnight shifts at my job, so my sleep scheduled is kind of fucked up. Even on days I'm not working, I can't get to sleep until at least 4am. I'm supposed to show up at 8am at a courthouse almost 40 minutes away from me next week. I called the jury duty help number and they said I don't have to work later than 12am on that day, but it won't really matter, because I cant get to sleep anyway. If I get up at 6, it takes me an hour to take a shower, eat breakfast, put on some nice clothes and get ready, then I have to drive almost an hour down to the court house, then I'm going to end up with about 2 hours of sleep. No way I'm sleeping for 2 hours and fucking up my whole day so that I can get to the jury selection process at 8am. How bad will it be if I just don't show up? I reside in Massachusetts by the way. I know the laws are different from state to state, but apparently you can go to jail for not showing up.
