I actually SWEAR I made eye contact today with a spider I’ve been trying to befriend who lives out back! I’ve been trying to ID them for the last like two weeks but they kept running super fast from their very impressive canopy web balcony looking setup into the little crevice every time I would get close at all,,, but this morning I said hi and it didn’t run away, it actually came closer???? It seemed to like, make it known that it could attack if it wanted / raised its legs up at first, but it didn’t do anything crazy and when I took a little step back it went back to standing normally! It even seemed to follow me / keep watching while I moved to other parts of the area with my dog!! ; u ; am I delulu if I believe it remembered me and is coming around to my presence? Loool

I started with a little worm! She accepted it and she also came out of her canopy web balcony thing for the first time and stood the closest to me she ever has! (‘: Thanks for all the information and help!

Oooo okay! Good idea! A laternfly sounds better than a roach considering that! A roach would maybe be a boss battle.😅

There are a lot of choices in the garden out back, so I’ll go pest hunting this weekend! I want to get something that will sustain her, but you’re right! She seems to be doing just fine on her own, aha. Her canopy web is also so so cute! I just said hi to her 5 minutes ago and am confident that she’s definitely way more open to me now! (‘: 💕

Omg, I literally already have tabs open because I was searching about what bugs she likes!!! Can she eat a lantern fly? I always feel too awful to kill them even though they’re an invasive species, but I would absolutely feed them to her!!! I wanna get something impressive, lool. There are actually oriental cockroach’s in the area that live in the dirt and sometimes people will get scared of them when they come out to the sidewalks / are scavenging the area! (lol)

I was thinking about catching one so she’d like me.🥹

omg thanks for this! I can’t wait to learn more about my new friend! She used to run but now she literally doesn’t anymore! I went out to see her again and it feels like she’s greeting me now!!!!

She’s been running the whole time but for the last two days she’s seemed really curious! Apprehensive but curious! No longer running to the crevice when I go over there! Maybe it’s because I’m the only one who lingers there every day? Lol

THIS IS HER! 💓(Or him?) I suspect a grass spider but I am not super knowledgeable so I could absolutely be wrong! They are a wild bb and I’m trying to be as respectful as possible / follow their lead entirely! I’m just glad that they seem to now be willing to let me get close!
