Post Body

Hi this is a very serious post which contains talks about r*ape. Please be advised before continue reading.

J & C are always raving about how perfect Norway is but it is not.

This weekend there were protest all over the country (I attended the one in Bergen) because there was a acquital in a group rape case in Bergen in which all suspects were acquitted of criminal offeses but were guilty in civil court for group r*ping a women after a night out. The woman went to the police but we lack massive resources for victims and women are often not believed by the police.

Women are not protected by the current law and police are not helpful. Basically the judges did not move forward with a criminal trial because they were not certain if the woman consent. (All the men said she did and she said she didn’t) However they did move forward with a civil trial and the man had to pay the woman 500k in damages because the bar for civil trials is much lower. So they are guilty in civil court for this rape but not in criminal court. The police admitted the men had cohorts their story with each other before coming in. And the victims suspects names were spread on the internet with the suspects making jokes on IG.

This cost an outrage all over the country and protests in all major cities. Reddit post here Norwegian link here and here. Sorry for the long message but C & J are arguably the biggest influencers in Norway and chose to keep quiet even though they could bring huge international awareness about what is happening in our country. International news is not picking it up.

One person commented about it on their IG and received disturbing replies from their fans.

I know that they are not the news but they advocate for women's and LGBTQ rights but they stay quiet about this. Maybe it doesn't fit their Norway is amazing stick but even Norway is not protecting women.
