Hi! New hereā Just wanted to stop in and see if anyone had any thoughts or materials related to a 1973 Seeburg āDrop The Disco,ā specifically mine. This jukebox has been a fixture of my familyās household for almost 35 years, purchased by my mother and father at a yard sale in 1990. My dad passed away in 2022 and on the day he died this machine stopped playing records. Unfortunately he didnāt teach me nearly enough about keeping up this machine, which is what brings me here. Weāve had it repaired twice in the last two years by a local jukebox guy but he himself says heās not all that familiar with Seeburgs like ours. Weāre concerned about keeping the machine running because if we canāt Iām pretty sure we will have to give her upā¦ and we donāt know any enthusiasts who might want herā¦
We can get the jukebox to turn on, it readily accepts a selection, but between accepting a selction and playing the corresponding record, the process breaks down. Sometimes it will get the record all the way to the turntable, needle hits vinyl, but no sound.
Please help keep our girl alive. Pictures to start, can provide video if you tell me where to look.
Thanks in advance!
