In 2022/23 there has been a massive spike on measles cases after years of having almost zero reported cases in jordan, the reasons are obvious as you may know, as almost as 112,000 children have missed their routine vaccinations

So as a preventative measure the WHO distributed a new MR vaccine that is free of charge to prevent a potential outbreak of the disease and is to be taken in schools

But of course our media companies (specifically Almamlaka) hosted a controversial figures that spread misinformation about the vaccine in order to spread more fear and distrust of healthcare providers in the hearts of the already distrusting people of Jordan

And now Parents are refusing to give their children this vaccine because “they saw a titkok” or a “post on Facebook” telling them about the side effects or that a school from Nigeria took it and now they’re all paralysed or that they’re trying to control them or kill them off (actual arguments I’ve heard btw)

Now I wouldn’t care if it was only adults doing this, they’re a fully grown person that can live with the consequences, but forcing and indoctrinating your child to face the high risk of dying an extremely preventable disease that we managed almost 40 years ago is disgusting
