My son is 17 and ready to get his first job. I have been at my job for 15 years, and it's been even longer since I've looked for a retail job. I keep hearing in my head"your parent's methods don't work anymore" I literally walked into McDonald's, applied, talked to a manager and was hired then and there.
So what works now? He applied online for the grocery store and Subway, but I feel like he's just sitting there waiting for the job fairy to give him a job instead of finding one. To be clear, I want to help him, not do it for him, and I want to support him, not nag. He wants a job because concert tickets are expensive!
