I’ve had steady employment all through my 20’s with no bumps in the road.
On my Saturday shift, my manager talked to me about my performance and said I’m denying calls and that is true, but I agreed to work on this. I did call off the rest of my Tuesday shift because I wasn’t feeling well. They noticed my performance wasn’t great.
What’s crazy is that our new metrics measure EVERYTHING. And only gave me two days to improve… before this we only spoke about the metrics on Saturday verbally.
I have my unemployment claim currently pending. Im just at a loss on what to do…. My rent is paid for this month and next month, but not so sure going forward.
Edit: I do own up to not answering every call that comes in. However, the way my manager went about it doesn’t seem right. They told me on my Saturday shift about my metrics, when originally we weren’t judged on this metric. Mind you I’ve been there 1.5 years. This conversation was a verbal conversation, nothing was ever signed or documented on my end, but my good performance review says otherwise on the metrics that DID matter.
