I have an annoying coworker who gets impatient if I don’t reply right away. Today they went to my boss about it. How to deal with this situation?

Apologies for the word vomit title, but this situation is tricky and don’t know how to handle it.

I have a coworker who I simply do not like, but have to deal with them on a daily basis. They are the type to act like they know everything and actually simultaneously don’t know anything at all. I know, confusing. Anyway, that’s besides the point.

This coworker let’s call them Debbie. Debbie pinged me on teams, I was finishing my work and didn’t have time to answer their question especially when it’s literally something they deal with on a regular basis.

I didn’t answer until I was about to leave and apparently they didn’t like my response time. Today, my boss pulled aside and quite literally said “Debbie is upset with how long it took you to reply. They mean well, but Debbie didn’t like how long your response took.”

I was so annoyed to where I physically rolled my eyes (I shouldn’t have), but holy crap I was so annoyed. What Debbie pinged me about is something you learn in training week 1, Debbie has been working here longer than I have.

How do I deal with the situation? Should I tell my boss that I’m annoyed about this?

TDLR: I don’t like my coworker Debbie, is a know it all who knows nothing. Debbie pinged me on teams, I didn’t reply until I was leaving and Debbie didn’t like my reply time. Boss had a talk with me about her “concern.” Don’t know what to do…
