Prospective employer won’t budge on salary. What else can I negotiate, and am I even making a good move?

Post Body

Hi, I’d really love some insight on this.

I’m moving in to a semi new career (customer success manager) after having HR and customer service experience. I’ve already gotten an offer from a company my sister worked at and saw lots of success at.

However, the salary is 60k with a 20% variable. I am already making 62k at my current job (it was just increased in February so I was originally making 60k). 10% of the metrics is pretty much guaranteed and 10% is cross selling, so guaranteed would likely be closer to 67,000.

I really am aiming for a base of 70. The employer will not budge, but I’m ready to get out of HR and move into a career with more growth opportunity: customer success manager. I just don’t want to accept only 60k base.

What else can I negotiate? Sign on bonus? If so, how much would be fair?

My current employer’s benefits are honestly really amazing and seem to be better than this prospective employers. BUT— my current company is extremely toxic and I am ready to get out.

Thank you in advance! Sincerely, Tired of being in a toxic workplace
