First question: I am a Supervisor for a company that, as of now, employes 50 people across two shifts, most of which are on the daylight crew. At my old job I was part of a safety committee, this week I was asked by a new employee if we had any medical supplies (they had gotten a cut). I searched through twelve different first aid stations. We have no supplies, and what we do it is expired, the newest of which was expired in 2013. Are first aid kits and medical supplies required by law?
Second question: Piggy backing off the medical supplies I also started digging to see if this place has an emergency action plan, the only plan it has set is incase if a fire. While at my old job we had plans set for fires, tornados, up to people coming in with weapons. I asked many people here that have been here for 20 year, none of them can tell me what to do for a tornado? Should there be a more detailed plan set in place? Is it required? Any help will be greatly appreciated, anything I've found on Google and OSHA doesn't really specify what is required.
