Post Body

Hi there,

I have been lurking in this subreddit for a while now and I hope that anyone can give me an advice. Most of the post here are helpful since I am looking for a long term career/job whilst being employed.

I have been thinking of having a career change since I have been working in the restaurant/F&B industry waiting tables for 2 years and given the pandemic everything in this industry is uncertain.

The thing is do not have a degree since I dropped out of college/university due to my family's financial strain. By then I just immediately started working just to get by.

I do have work experience primarily within the hospitality industry since that was the industry I was exposed to (my dad used to be a GM of a hotel..). I even used to work overseas in an island country before being a waiter.

Given that I want to switch careers its just the insecurity of not having a degree, despite of the work experiences. I feel like it may be an obstacle just to have a career that I want and I need to sell myself more at interviews just to land a position.

I have been thinking of going towards the travel/airline industry even though demand has been low during the pandemic, it might increase substantially once we get back to (the new) normal.I love to interact with different people (despite being an introvert), I'm a plane nerd,I have fluency to several foreign languages other than English.

Btw, I'm typing on my phone. Just mind the spelling/grammar errors.
