TLDR nervous about applying for a similar position at a different branch of the same company

So a coworker told me she dropped my name in the ring for a very similar position at a different branch that is offering more hours and more pay. I want to apply but I am nervous on how to broach the subject with my supervisor. I feel the need to inform her because we are short staffed as it is and they depend on me pretty hard. I have the most experience and dependability of any other staff person there (that isn’t in a leadership position) so they rely on me heavily and it just feels backstabby to try to get a different job at a different branch. I am applying for the job tomorrow no guarantee I’ll get it since I don’t have the degree they are looking for but I’ve been with this company in a similar role for the past two years and I have always gotten good reports from my supervisor when she goes to meetings and other leaders speak highly of me to her. So idk this is the one job/career I’ve had where I actually enjoy the whole thing the majority of the time I don’t wanna mess anything up.

Any advice on how to proceed or even how to broach the subject tomorrow?
