Title says it all! I quit my job, I was at for years, at the beginning of the year to move closer to my girlfriend, fiancée, and took a job as a supervisor. I am currently management, even if my pay does not reflect that by my 20k/year. We have been having trouble getting new hires, older ones are retiring or quitting. The place is a revolving door. As management I am not part of the union, but the line workers are. I just received a new hire and they told me they were excited to work because this was the first job they were making XXXX/hr. They are making substantially more than I am per hour and per year. Is there anything I can do, or any advice that anyone could give me? Should I approach them about being under paid? The position I took has been vacant and has seen many different people in for the past two years, no one has wanted to stay in it.
