To explain I left my old job to go to school to try to get into the healthcare field (not nursing). The school program promised on the job training that due to Covid might be delayed for a year. Due to this fact and I don't think I will do well in this field (based on the schooling it isn't what I thought it would be) I am going to try to get back to my old field. My question, how to explain the 1 year gap I now have on my resume?
If I say I was at school considering it was another field they might question my commitment when being interviewed. The dreaded how long do you see yourself at this place would be difficult to answer as I don't see myself in it for long and there would be evidence of my lack of commitment.
Does anyone have experience with trying to change industry and then going back to their old one. How did you navigate and was it difficult to explain the wondering. Am I making to much out of this?
Thanks for reading and any helpful stories/advice
