I applied for a job in a different state, in the same field but a different sub-specialty. I did the first interview on the phone with their internal recruiter, and was invited, by that same recruiter, for a second interview that completed my application. I sent the recruiter a thank-you e-mail after the first interview.
The second interview consisted of a one page written questionnaire of standard and non-standard interview questions.
I submitted the answers to the questions, and received a thank you from the recruiter two days later (this past Friday) basically stating, "Thanks for submitting your answers. We have far more candidates than expected and fewer positions open than we anticipated. The hiring managers will choose the best candidates for the job. You will hear something back by the end of next week."
My question is this: I was able to find the department manager, and assistant department manager on Linkedin, but they are not listed on the employer's website. Should I go out on a limb and send them thank you e-mails as a follow-up (using the email convention of the recruiter/HR person's email?) or would I best be served sending one to the recruiter?
nb: This job is in healthcare, if that makes a difference.
