How to resign appropriately due to mental health issues
Post Body

Last night I went to the ER and was under observation for suicide for the night. I took today off from work. I've been having panic attacks for the last two weeks which makes my depression worse and yesterday's panic attack broke me down completely and started as soon as I thought of work. I even started having one when I was putting my uniform on a few days ago.

It doesn't help that we are severely shortstaffed. I'm still under the probationary period so I'm considered an at-will employee.

I told my manager that I've had panic attacks lately but haven't told her about the depression or suicidal thoughts. I wanted to know how to tell her that I need to leave.
