So I’m invited to sign the paperwork today. During the interview I’ve been told about the company’s regulations where they ask and keep employee’s academic certificate/birth certificate, to prevent employee from applying jobs while still employed there. I said I had no problem, but I did not mention that my uni did not provide physical certificate, only digital form. Plus they did not mention if they are asking for the original certificate or just copy.

During the paperwork signing today, I handed a print and the HR asked why did I not bring the original certificate, and I explained the situation. The HR was clearly pissed and said she need to discuss with higher ups bc this is the first time they had situation like this.

Well, guess I am back to jobseeking again 😩
