My mom is 61 and she’s attributing the fact that she can’t find a job to age discrimination. She’s a CNA/in-home caregiver of over 10 years and has mostly worked in nursing home. It’s true that in her recent bouts of unemployment, it’s taken significantly longer for her to find anything despite applying to tons of jobs.. what’s going on? I think her resume looks pretty good (I’ve revised it a ton) yet she can’t even get an interview 98% of the time. She has extensive experience in her field and yet nursing homes and private clients alike are not responding like they used to. It’s so discouraging.
