Got offered a way better position after about a week in a retail job, need advice on how to handle quitting

Post Body

I recently graduated college and after a handful of rejections for jobs in my field, I took a retail job to make ends meet while searching for jobs more relevant to my intended line of work. Of course, by my first day of the retail job, I had two interviews lined up for much higher paying jobs that are in my field, and I ultimately got offered both (yay!). I have about three weeks until the start of my new position, and I donā€™t really need to work my current job until then, but Iā€™m open to it. Iā€™m still technically in training, but Iā€™ve had this exact job before (at a different location though) so Iā€™m already able to do a lot of the tasks unsupervised. Iā€™m thinking that Iā€™ll talk to my manager and basically say ā€œif you need the support of me being here until my new position starts, Iā€™m up for it, but if Iā€™m not needed, thatā€™s fine too.ā€ Itā€™s a pretty casual job but I donā€™t want to burn any bridges because I adore my coworkers and would love to be able to return to the store as a customer without major discomfort someday lol.

My main concern is that I donā€™t really get any time where I can talk to my manager privately during the work day, so talking in person in a timely manner isnā€™t going to be super easy. Iā€™m thinking that I will email her, but I donā€™t really know what to say because itā€™s very awkward timing and I canā€™t even settle on a good subject line for this.

Iā€™m looking for advice on 1) how to phrase things and 2) if I should phrase my first email as a formal resignation, or if I should start by clarifying that itā€™s up to the manager if I stay on for the next few weeks and submit the true letter of resignation after that conversation. Thank you all!!
