I worked for Goodwill from 2016 to 2018 in Springfield, NJ. It was one of the most traumatizing experiences I’ve ever gone through. There were more managers than I can count. Since I’m the spectrum I had a job coach who was horrible and only made things worse. The final manager that was there was straight up abusive. Some examples of the things she called me were a sneak, liar, a nasty and vindictive person and threatened me not to tell corporate what was going on in the store. When I broke down at one point she told me point blank that she ‘didn’t have time for the waterworks’. After I quit I finally reached out to the CEO and told her what was going on and again nothing was done. Things got so bad that I had to start seeing a psychologist after I quit just to get over it. It’s time Goodwill is held accountable for the way they treat their employees. Their 501(c)3 needs to be terminated and they need to be investigated and shut down.
