I recently applied to a local dog daycare for a front desk position. After a couple of phone interviews that went pretty well I was asked to come in for a working interview. Weird, but it was a paid interview so whatever. The working interview itself was more like training for the position and the manager told me that I was âmore or less hiredâ. However, at the end of the shift she asked me to come back in a couple of days to do the same thing but for an afternoon shift to see how things go during that. I went for that and I was under the impression that I made a good impression. When I left they told me I had done a good job and I should hear from them about next steps. Yesterday I received a call telling me that they liked me and thought I was a good fit. However, they believed I was better suited for a back of house position and that the position would not be open for âat least a couple of monthsâ. This is for a $12/hr job. They would not give me any feedback on what it was I did to change their mind about me. Has anyone else had an experience like that? This is extremely frustrating because I have been job hunting for weeks now and while this wouldnât pay the bills, I could at least pay my child support with it.
