I need an excuse as to why I got fired

So I was supposed to have my first day at my job yesterday but this weekend I received a notice that I was no longer employed before my first shift due to taking too long to hand in hiring forms. I live with my parents and have just left my house for the entirety of the shift yesterday and today and had to make up things about the job when they asked. I don’t want this to continue for much longer so I want to come home today and tell them that i was fired but idk what to say i was fired for.
