I meant to title this “i ghosted a job for the first time”.
I feel terrible but I was hired about 3 weeks ago. In my interview i mentioned I would not be able to work on weekends as I go home to see my parents every weekend (i live in a different state then my family). I said I would like to work 40 hours a week, monday through friday. She told me this was exactly what they were looking for. Great!
Did my training only 3 days a week but whatever, its training. Then, I didnt get my direct deposit my 3rd week in for the past 2 weeks. Also, the paycheck was missing 2 hours from it. (I could view the check online but didnt get deposited) I texted her and all i got was “i think itll be in the next week direct deposit and ill add the 2 hours”. ok? weird but i figured ill just ask for clarification in person the next time i work.
She then texted me (saturday night at 8pm) the “official” schedule saying heres the hours you will be working this week and going forward now that you have completed training. She scheduled me Friday, Saturday, Sunday (the next day at 7am), and Monday. All four days for 4 hour shifts. I was already so pissed off about not getting my pay.
I texted her and said these are not the hours or days we discussed in the interview and i will not be able to come in Saturday or Sunday, but I can work any other day to replace those! She never answered me. Sunday rolled around and I was still at home 3 hours away and she never responded to my text. She then proceeded to call me 7 times still without answering my text. So i just blocked her lol. I feel like an ass but seriously? I made it a point to let her know I can’t work weekends since thats usually when fast food places prefer to hire.
I literally dont care. If i never get that $250 paycheck via direct deposit ill be upset but im definitely never showing my face in that establishment again.
