Offered 60, asking 65?

Post Body

I will be graduating in May with a specialized degree. I have received an offer from the company I intend to work for at 60k. After inquiring with others in this city and doing some additional budget research I have found that I need more for base monthly living. (It’s a city infamous for fluctuation in housing. And very expensive).

Before anyone jumps to the conclusion that I’m naive and should not be requesting this increase: I have also interned with this exact company for the past two summers. I have an awareness and understanding of how the company works. I personally believe that this gives me a benefit far greater than age experience.

I’m asking for any and all input negative or positive. I’m nervous to ask for more but worst case scenario- I tell them I need more time to consider 60k if they refuse 65k.
