Is it bad to call off two days in a row from a teaching job due to having a very bad cold?

Post Body

My tongue hurts and my throat is still sore, I do feel better than I did yesterday. Yesterday was the first sick day Iā€™ve ever taken. I let my boss know I will be taking this last day off, I sound like a completely different person (am losing my voice.) I donā€™t know whether or not I will be regarded as an unreliable employee due to this decision making. I work with 2-6 year olds.

I did mention that I want to ensure I donā€™t get other staff members sick. If Iā€™m worried about being fired due to this decision making, is there a way for me to discuss this with my boss withoutā€¦ well, saying everything wrong?

I sent ā€œGood morning, I wanted to communicate that today will be my last day calling off due to sickness. I will be back in tomorrow. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. I want to ensure that I do not spread my sickness to other coworkers or the children.ā€

I have not yet received a response. I worry that perhaps I am making a bad decision.
