I applied to a company I would really love to work at and got a phone interview, which progressed to an on-site interview. I thought it went well and I was told they would get back to me, even if they didn't choose me, and that they had a whole lot more interviews to go through. I sent my thank you email (about a week after my interview because I had forgotten about it. They are using jobvite, so I don't have anyone's personal email, but I thanked everyone I had talked to by name and just hoped for the best) and I have been waiting for close to a month. The job is still posted on their site and they are still accepting applications as far as I can tell. It goes without saying, I would really love this job...so I'm wondering if there is anything more that I can do? I certainly don't want to be annoying...
Could somebody with perhaps more insight into hiring process explain to me if waits like these are typical? Or rather, could someone take a guess as to my hiring chances? Are they anywhere near good if I have been waiting this long with no contact? Is it appropriate to contact them? Would that be a useless exercise? The job is pretty entry-level, and I live in the bay area, so I can only assume there must be hundreds of people applying. All the more reason that I want to try to stand out a little.
