USA Teachers: do they get job placement and assistance?

Post Body

If I become a teacher with a BA or MA degree in Elementary Education, then will I get automatic job placement/assistance or some form of internship?

I don't care about the initial salary, which would probably be low anyway. I just like the chance to teach, even if it means to live in a rural or impoverished area. Though, I am wary about the impoverished area part. Poverty-strickened areas may also be infested with crime. I just hope that the program will offer some kind of protection to teachers on the professional internship, if they were to send teacher interns to a poor area to teach.
