Is it normal that all remote jobs have 20000+ aplicants?

So basically right now me and my girlfriend live in her parents apartment (with 6 people here and only 3 rooms) and I want to move out, but the jobs here are really bad. You have to brake your back to earn a peny and the job posts are really limited. Only 1 that she can do and some that I can do (but they're all low pay and back pain :*( Then I realised that we can work remotely. So I started searching stuff like entry level remote jobs in europe and I saw that the jobs that are available outside of US or UK have over 20000 aplicants. Is that normal? That demorolized me quite a lot.

I did find some local remote jobs here(in Latvia). So hopefully i'll get one this month.

But now the question is: can I get a good paying (800eur ) job remotely if I just apply to a bunch of those job posts. And should I get any certifications for sales, data entry, customer support or It desk? Any tips are really apreciated and will help me a lot.

Also right now I'm self learning web development and studying at a remote secondary school so these jobs are just for time so I don't need any career advice. Any advice on entry level remote job aqusition will be really apreciated.
