About 3 months ago now i started a new job i was recommended by a friend who works there. I was initially offered a temp position (so was he) with no written stipulation on how long that was to last, but for him it lasted three months and it came with a raise of an extra 10dlls/hr once he began full time (again this was not written in mine or his contract).
3 months pass by (so 1 week ago) and i am offered the fulltime position as well so i wrongly assumed it would come with the raise as well and when i am sent the contract i see that the hourly rate is the same as my temp contract. Thinking it might be a mistake before signing i ask HR if the fulltime position also came with a raise ? And i was shocked when she said that it didnt since my job title wasn’t changing (which was the same case as my friend as i look at his offer right after i left HR) . I was shook and pretty much said ok and i went and signed it as i am not currently in the position to just quit and i also didnt want to say that i know for a fact two of my coworkers with the same title and work under the same department have a different salary and we do the same work.
This being said my direct supervisor was on vacation and i want to assume he has no knowledge of this but i dont know how to approach the topic without sound greedy. I have no idea how to approach this but it really rubbed me the wrong way and dont feel as motivated to work knowing that to my face they said that position did not come with a raise.
I may have missed details so please ask if anything else is relevant
