Hi everyone. Sorry if this sounds like a rookie question. I've had the same job for 7 years but as of late I've had a big desire to do something else. Its been a long time since I've submitted a resume.
One thing I hear a lot about resumes is that when submitting a resume electronically, its actually scanned by some software which is searching for "keywords" in the resume.
How does one exactly go about in finding "keywords" to make your resume more appealing? Are keywords based on the position you're applying for? Is there somewhere I can look online where, let's say, the position I'm applying for is an office position then perhaps I can find out what keywords to include in a resume to make it more appealing during its first step after I submit it?
I know this question is rather vague. But for me its a bit mind blowing that your chances of even being considered could come down to whether you used certain words.
