Going by the honest version of my resume, it's garbage.
in 2007 I was 18, fresh out of high school, got A certified, got call center experience, went into helpdesk support, and then did that for 2 years, then I went on to do software development with a startup.
Then my life kinda came crashing down. I started smoking cigarettes, did that for about 5 years, fell into a deep depression, quit my software job, lost all my money, and just lived with mom for years. Eventually I pulled out of it, after many failed attempts I finally kept a job working in an Amazon warehouse, and that's where I am today. From software engineer to warehouse grunt, with a 5 year gap in between. I also did about 2 years of freelance work that's somewhat recent. Overall the honest version of my resume just reeks, because of that big freaking gap where I was unemployed being depressed and chain smoking.
I don't know what to do, open to suggestions. Do I lie? Thanks.
