So, I work at a great Joann, our DM, SM, and ASM are great, as are most of our customers. However, one of my pet peeves is feeling like I have to literally heard customers out of the store at closing, and often having my team need to stay later than necessary because of (rude) people who think we’re there to serve them, regardless of what time we’re supposed to close! Anyway, my last closing shift, I started our closing announcements a little late because I was also cashier, so made the first one 20 minutes before closing. Very shortly after, two women who looked like mother & daughter started to leave without buying anything, so I asked if they needed help finding something. The mother(?) smiled and said (paraphrasing),” we were just looking around, but we don’t want you to have to stay later just for us!” Was so nice for someone to acknowledge that we’re people with lives, too!
