I want to get into social activities in jmu but I’m not in yet

Im a 25 year old girl that lives near harrisonburg but I don’t have a car yet. But I wanted to know if there are any clubs or something that I could get into, I applied for summer 2024 term but I wanna make friends with people before that. I like to read books and do research and lift weights. Anybody else feel like it is hard to make friends in this city
