i’ve been working at this job since i was 14, and i just turned 16 recently, i was excited i could “legally” make the full sandwich myself because i’d rather be on the line then register and i hate asking for help. but my GM came up to me the other day and said i can’t bread start anymore because im not “mayo certified” and she refuses to teach me the “proper way” whats the point of being able to put mayo on the sandwich in 4 swipes!!! i use the scoop and i make sure theres no dry spots :( this job is literally a joke at times. i already wanted to leave at the news of the permanent wraps and macaroni salad (at my location at least)
has anyone run into the issue of not being “mayo certified”?
So at 16 your able to use a knife. Not the slicer till 18. How they got away with hiring you at 14 is beyond me but don't get discouraged. Keep at it and have another manager teach you. At my store, yes I'm the GM and going for area manager soon. I encourage. And you want to learn then why not. Go into fast track and it will teach you without her and fast track is JJ corporate and mandatory and you can watch whenever. Honestly I love this company and if you want to learn, ask me questions. Been with JJ from an inshopper to GM for almost 8 years
