I'm sure pretty much every Jill Stein supporter has heard this by now. It's a statement full of arrogance and entitlement that makes dangerous assumptions about who would be your second choice if you really believed in voting for the lesser of two evils.
However, something that the Clinton campaign many not have yet considered is that we too can play this game.
We do not need a majority of Americans to join the green party to win the presidency for Jill Stein. We only need enough voters to throw the election to Trump. If we obtain this critical mass, we can use the same rhetoric against Clinton's supporters so long as we're deadfast in our support for Stein.
If we tell Clinton supporters, that under no circumstance will we ever vote for Clinton, then the decision to "vote incorrectly" and "accidentally elect Donald Trump" is in the hands of Clinton supporters.
Why should we arrogantly assume that Clinton supporters should come to us? Well, they've been busy telling us for the past several months how much they like Bernie and Stein's policies but can't risk a Trump presidency. Tell them to put their money where their mouth is and join us.
They are afraid of Trump. We are not. Trump is their problem. Shall we give them a taste of their own medicine?
