My ring gets blackened with something during regular wear. The ring I'm showing is a temporary ring (aka not finished, just something I'm wearing because I like having my ring on lol). The blackening happened on a finished product.
It is sterling silver, handmade, and was polished using ZAM buffing compound. The blackening occurred over a few months of regular wear (desk job, chores like laundry and dishes, so no super harsh chemicals) and my wife's ring does not suffer the same fate.
I personally sweat a ton. I'm worried that is just the problem and can't be avoided but I was hoping there were some tips for polishing or tips on better compounds that could extend the life of the ring between touch ups.
