so pretty much i bought a chain on a whim from a reputable seller on marketplace because I thought it was priced pretty decently. I didnt really do my research before buying it because I just liked how it looked and how close it was for me to pick up😭
so its a miami cuban 10k 9.5mm 22” and weighs just under 49 grams. I paid $2200 for it (preowned.) Everything seems to be in really good condition but I was unaware of that some gold chains are hollow and some are solid. I feel kinda stupid messaging the seller asking him which it is after telling him how much I liked it and acting like I knew about gold. Based off the size and weight can would anyone be able to tell if its hollow or solid?
I do plan on wearing this daily so if it is hollow what can I do to get the longest life out of it? My job is a server in a restaurant so I dont see myself in a lot of situations where weight would be applied directly on to the chain but I am reading that hollow chains break easily, what causes it?
Personally I really like the piece but my first thought when I had it in my hands is that I definitely thought it should weigh more. As long as it just doesnt fall apart for no reason how people on here are saying they do I will be happy.
